The exhibition presents artworks of hand-recycled paper by Dr. Krassimira Drenska, who is an assistant professor of Decorative Arts and Painting at the Visual Arts Department (Facullty of Educational Studies and the Arts) of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”. The exhibition is part of her artistic project "Handmade Recycled Paper as Fne Art", which project was realized with the support of the National Programme „Post-doctoral Students“ Funded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science (MES), and approved by resulution № 577 of the Council of Ministers on August 17, 2018.
The artworks, from a total of four series, are shown here through photographs, they represent the author's interpretation of Krassimira Drenska regarding the extensive creative possibilities of the technique in question. The materials used are pulp of recycled paper, textiles, acrylic, natural materials, and the technique of hand-recycled paper is mixed with that of collage, embossing, monotype, digital printing. The forms and kinds of the artworks are different and vary from embossed miniatures to large-format spatial installations. Conceptually, the works are related to the moral and philosophical issues of faith, love, harmony, inclusion in the family and respect for tradition.
